Argentina sack coach

Argentina has sacked their coach Edgardo Bauza after their poor performance in the World Cup qualification so far. Indeed the Argentina national team is currently fifth in the South American group table.

The Argentina football federation has stated that they have reached an agreement with the coach and that both parties have agreed to cancel the contract. He believes that this will be in the best interest of the national team.

Pressure has been mounting on Bauza ever since Argentina lost an important game against Bolivia who is considered among the weakest team in the confederation.

The search is already on for Argentina as they will need to find a new coach before their important game against Brazil which is schedule in June. There are various names that have been rumored such as Diego Simeone, but the latter has denied being contacted for the Argentina job.

There is also news that the Argentina football federation has contacted Sevilla manager Sampaoli, but so far there is no confirmation from other parties.

Argentina will also be without their star player Lionel Messi for the next four games as the Barcelona forward has received a ban following the incident with an official.

The Argentina football federation has stated that they will be taking their time to choose a coach that will bring the team forward and also help raise the morale of the fans. It’s been a long time since Argentina has won a game convincingly, and they think that changes are needed at the head of the team.

With a team comprising of players such as Messi and Aguero, many would have been expecting Argentina to be among the leaders of the group but this simply did not happen, and the country may find themselves eliminated from the Russian World Cup before it actually begins.
